Nameplate Labels and Rating Plates

Custom printed and manufactured for machines, equipment and vehicles. On special films that stay in place on difficult surfaces and under permanent stress.

Professional marking for your products

Industrial nameplate labels, custom printed and manufactured

Witte plusprint® manufactures nameplate labels and rating plates to order, built to your specifications. We print them in your layout, die-cut them to your size and select the film and adhesive for the surface they have to stick to. As a result, the type designation, serial number, ratings and warnings stay legible for the entire service life of your product.

Our nameplates are high-performance labels based on screen printing. They are bonded to a wide range of surfaces such as polyethylene, powder coating or silicone-containing hammer finish paint, they sit in the engine compartment, outdoors or inside washing systems, and they still have to remain legible. This is exactly what our technikett® films are designed for. They are tamper-evident, highly abrasion-resistant and, depending on the version, resistant to solvents, chemicals, UV light and weathering.

Do you need high-quality, durable custom nameplate labels for your products, devices or machines? Witte plusprint® is your experienced partner for the professional production of nameplates and rating plates in all sizes and versions.

You receive the label fully printed or as a blank label for printing your own data in-house. Security features against counterfeiting, sequential numbering, barcodes, Data Matrix codes and RFID can all be integrated. For applications where the right material is not clear from the start, we simulate the conditions of use in our in-house materials testing.

The basics

What are nameplate labels?

Nameplate labels are used to attach important information and technical data about a product or machine directly to the object. These labels typically include the manufacturer’s name, the model, the serial number and technical specifications such as voltage, power and current. Certifications such as CE marking or UL approval can also be shown on the labels.

In addition to technical data and certifications, they often contain warnings or short operating instructions. They are essential for traceability, safety and the proper operation of machines and equipment. Applying these labels ensures compliance with legal standards and gives the end user the transparency they need.

What is commonly shown on a nameplate label?

The information on nameplate labels is important for using a product safely and tracing it. It helps to identify the product clearly and to understand its technical details. It also confirms that the product meets all safety and quality standards.

Item Description
Product name Name or model of the product or device
Year of manufacture Year the product was made
Manufacturer Name and full address of the company
Type or series Specific model series or variant
Serial number (optional) Unique identification number of the product
Technical data Relevant technical information such as voltage, power and weight
Safety information Warnings and safety instructions
CE marking Marking for products that meet EU requirements

Which information is mandatory in your case depends on the product type and the directive. We implement your specifications and your layout and advise you on the technical side, for example on the minimum size of symbols and on legibility over the service life.

Made in-house

Printing processes and finishes

The requirement determines which process we use. Screen printing delivers opaque, lightfast colors and high resistance, while digital printing allows variable data and small runs. We produce both on rolls and on sheets, depending on customer requirements. In addition, we offer thermal transfer printing, flexographic printing, laser marking, die-cutting as well as laminating and backing.

With the laminate-protected plusprotect® system, the label is sealed with a protective film after the data has been printed. The data remains legible even if the label later comes into contact with aggressive media or is exposed to mechanical stress.

Laminate-protected motor nameplate being sealed by hand with the protective film

technikett®

Nameplates and rating plates for difficult surfaces such as polyethylene, polypropylene, painted, powder-coated and textured surfaces, right up to silicone-containing hammer finish paints. The films are tamper-evident and cannot be removed in one piece.

plusprotect®

Patented laminate system for labels that come into contact with aggressive media or are exposed to heavy mechanical stress. It is matched to thermal transfer printers and is available with a removable paint protection film on request.

backprint-it®

In this reverse printing process, the image is printed on the back of the film in several layers, depending on the number of colors, followed by the adhesive layer. The label stays legible where conventional markings have long since worn off or been attacked by acid, for example on high-pressure cleaners, washing machines, refueling signs and gas cylinders.

LaserMark® and LasAcryl®

Laser engraving films made of a two-layer colored laser film in polyester or acrylic. Barcodes, Data Matrix codes and sequential numbering are created directly in the material, permanently and impossible to overwrite. Security features such as a color-shift effect or a hologram can be integrated.

plusdome®

Three-dimensional technical labels with a polyurethane coating, temperature-resistant from −30 °C to +120 °C, coating thickness 1.6 to 2.8 mm, typical service life five to ten years. In testing, moisture and salt water had no effect over 120 hours.

plusCHROME®

Multidimensional lettering, type designations and ornaments with a synthetic resin core and a refined film surface in an aluminum or chrome look, matte or glossy. Weather-resistant and made without galvanic chrome plating.

plusform®

Die-cut parts and front panels made of permanently elastic, plasticizer-free polyurethane elastomer, adhesive on one or both sides. Depending on the version, they are anti-slip, damping, electrically conductive or insulating, thermally conductive, waterproof and solvent-resistant.

plusident®

RFID labels and complete solutions with HF (13.56 MHz) and UHF (868 to 956 MHz) on paper, PET, PP, PC and PVC. This turns the nameplate into a data carrier for inventory, containers and the supply chain.
