As a certified security printer and specialist for technical labels, the focus of the Witte Group is on screen and digital printing. Witte apprentices were able to witness other exciting printing techniques firsthand during a visit to the Aschendorff publishing house where, among others, the Westfälische Nachrichten daily is published via web offset printing.
The almost 2-hour tour provided a comprehensive overview of the entire range of newspaper production, from editorial news research to production to the organization of newspaper delivery. The gigantic printing presses, paper rolls weighing several tons and – as it seemed – miles of sorting equipment left quite an impression.
Afterwards apprentices and trainers could top off the evening in the Cosmo Bowling Center. Everyone agreed afterwards: that was a successful event!
